Wow. Another amazing story from Kristin Hannah. She has a way of telling stories that leave you completely enthralled and captivated the entire time. I felt like I knew Lenny and her family by the end of the story. I would recommend to anyone interested in any of Kirstin’s novels. She is a very talented writer. I felt like I was in Alaska - experiencing the story with the characters.

Not my favorite. I wanted to rate it higher than 3 stars because I love Alaska but no. It’s too predictable. Poor representation of PTSD and also the ending 🙄. Plus I’m annoyed that it made me cry and I didn’t even enjoy reading it. Also idk if the author has ever actually spoken to anyone with PTSD or severe mental illness.

This story was heartbreaking, beautiful, frustrating, joyful, and everything in between! It made me want to visit Alaska so badly to experience it for myself! But also made me grateful for indoor plumbing and electricity lol

I absolutely enjoyed this book! It was mainly in Leni's perspective, a 13 yr old girl pulled to Alaska when her father came back from being a POW in the Vietnam War, and he came back a very different person! Leni and her mother walk on eggshells to try to keep him happy!
