I enjoyed this book and I think it really surprised me. I love Divergent but the other two books in the Divergent Trilogy kinda fell flat for me. This reignited that spark I had felt when I had read Divergent.
I think this helped us to understand Four better and some of what happened in Divergent which I found enjoyable. I also realized that there were so many missed opportunities by the author to take the story in directions which she failed to do in Insurgent and Allegiant (Speeling error??) This book is made up of four short stories about Four and while I enjoyed it, it made me mourn what could have been for this series! I would recommend for people who liked this series.

This was mostly disappointing. Four's voice is a little more distinctive than it was in Allegiant, but the rest of the characters are still cartoonish cardboard cutouts and we just don't get anything new, both in terms of narrative and in terms of our understanding of the characters and of the world. Despite its flaws I still like the first book of the Divergent series, even if I was less happy with where the rest of the story took us, so there was a little bit of joy in getting to relive those faction initiation days through someone else, but it really was just a rehash of things we'd seen before.

I need Veronica Roth to write divergent from Tobias’ perspective!!! This book is too short!!!

I loved this book, it always fascinates me to see some of my favorite books retold from another character's POV. Veronica Roth once again pulls the reader into the amazing Divergent world, this time as we get to see Tobias, and his journey out of Abnegation and into Dauntless, facing his fears and learning how to be himself and stay true to what he believes in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Yet another excellent book, I'd love to see even more of this.
