A new favorite. This was totally charming. I loved both Arabella and Robert, and I loved their chemistry.

Don’t love deception and this seemed like it was going to be overly consumed with deception and miscommunication which aren’t my favorite tropes

Maybe I have been reading too many Georgette Heyer novels recently, but I suppose I'm a bit tired of her repeating tropes (e.g. the rich male lead who is a great dresser, fantastic with horses, has a high title, and helps the female lead out of her troubles).
I did enjoy the female lead being very principled and strong-willed when it came to fighting against injustice and helping the those in need, but it does feel frustrating that she needed the male lead to constantly bail her out every time she deals with difficulties. I did, however, like the banter and the main characters getting to know each other. Also, I'm not sure how I felt about the ending where Beaumaris seemed to tie everything up perfectly in his all-knowing state, while Arabella was this kind of pathetic, blubbering, silly mess.
Also, the sections of the book about her brother getting into gambling and the trouble he caused in London, were not very interesting. If we did didn't have to read the sections that focused on that so much, the book would have progressed more speedily and smoothly.
