This was a weird one and reminds me a bit of another book, but I can't remember the name! I wasn't super locked into this one but I will definitely give Natalie Barelie another try! This was well written I think this was just a me problem.

Rose happens along a book for sale and realizes it’s a novel based on her long-missing childhood diary. She works her way into the author’s life in an attempt to reclaim what’s hers- both because it was hers, and because it contains clues to a murder.

Wow, did this have twists! Just when you think you know where things stand, everything changes. I got sucked right into this suspense-filled story and ended up listening to it all in one go, needing to know what would happen and how it would end.

Rachel Leblang did a good job narrating the audiobook.

Thank you Natalie Barelli, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

Fun, quick read!

Rose/Iris right she killed her school teacher's wife.  Suddenly a book is released of her diary from that time. She tries to steal it back but turns out the author (Emily) was crazy and discovers the truth.
Turns out the teacher was a groomer that convinced Rose she was crazy and was going to frame her for her murder so he could marry his mistress Amy. Turns out all these years, Amy did it but Rose told the police Amy convinced it was the teacher and he ends up in prison. He can't tell his story because Amy tried to run him down years before and it left him uncommunicative. Rose gets a happy ending with her BF Ben and karma takes care of all those deserving!

Just dropped in to say how much I enjoyed this book! It wasn't your run of the mill psychological thriller! The premise of the story really drew to read the book- a girl has a crush on her hs teacher and writes a diary about it, somewhat fantasy, reads like he was grooming her. Rose, the main character drops a bombshell at the end of the diary. Many years later Rose loses the laptop. Some time after that she finds her diary selling as the newest best fiction seller.

The story keeps building upon itself and by the end it felt totally believable even though as I tell it back it sounds crazy lol. I really liked the way the main was written. Rose wasn't anything stereotypical. She was believable. The plot kept me guessing and there were a couple twists I didn't see coming! I read it on my kindle and listened to the audio. Definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
