Do not read this book if you need like-able characters or for bad people to face consequences! These characters are all assholes and there are never any satisfying consequences for the bad guys.
That said, I really liked this book! It was engaging, I kept wanting to find out what would happen next. I liked what it had to say about toxic masculinity and toxic femininity, as well as internet celebs and trolls.

I really enjoyed this! A very engaging & interesting, without being too far-fetched that it became confusing, plot. Layered characters, relationships, and themes.
Graphic: Vomit, Animal death, Death, and Eating disorder

Weird book. I usually like satire but the dialogue was unnatural and none of the characters were likable, plus plot was frustrating. 2 stars for pieces of the story & concepts that were interesting, and the ending was redeeming, imo

Very interesting. This book just may be prophetic of what’s to come.

I absolutely love a weird literary fiction book!! This was weird but also made some super interesting points about social media. I really loved the writing most of all though, some parts were so beautifully written and some made me really laugh while reading it!

Thank you to Netgalley and Alex McElroy for an advanced copy in return for my honest review. The Atmospherians is available to to purchase and read on May 18, 2021.
Sasha was on her way to being the next big influencer on social media with her company ABANDON when tragedy struck and she lost everything from her apartment to her boyfriend. Thankfully, her childhood friend Dyson talked Sasha into starting a cult for men with hopes of making the world a safer place.
This book was odd. It felt a little Sci-fi to me, which is not typically my jam. The beginning did peak my interest especially with the mystery behind Sasha's downfall but then it got weird. Dyson was creepy and I couldn't understand what Sasha saw in their relationship. Overall, this book was not for me but the concept was interesting and unlike anything I've ever read.
