I learned so many things from this book! I thought I wasn‘t doing too badly as a minor dinosaur nerd. I was very wrong!
I really enjoyed the exploration of theropods. And feathers! I will look differently at birds from now on. Astonishing fact, I did not know that all those animals in the air and under the sea that I called dinosaurs were in fact reptiles. I really did not know that birds are more closely related to velociraptors than to pterodactyls and co. The part about colouration and melanosomes was fascinating as well.
I could have done with less name dropping and anecdotes about dino hunters. Still, it ways a smooth and entertaining way to talk about all the discoveries that were made over the years and what they meant for our understanding of dinosaurs.
The audio is well done. However, apparently I missed out on more than seventy original illustrations and photographs.
Fascinating. I just got the ebook, so I can look at all the illustrations. And at some point I might get his 9781529034240 at some point.

If you are really into Dinos this is probably a five star read. As just a moderate Dino guy I found myself distracted at points. However for the most part I found this book to be engaging and informative.
