2⭐️ HOCKEY, FRIENDS W BENEFITS
It felt really fast paced, even for a shorter book. The characters didn’t show that they had much chemistry beyond a physical attraction to one another. It was also really LIGHT on the hocket aspect, he was on holiday break the entire time.

Grant needs to do some recovery on his shoulder and while his hockey team is on a break he heads to his childhood home for a little rest and relaxation. Except conflict with his parents and brothers drives him out in to the town as often as possible where these trips out put him in direct contact with his high school crush, Faith. She's just as beautiful as he remembers but Faith seems to be hitting a low and dating is just not on her radar. Grant doesn't give up, showing Faith over and over again that he can be a friend and the right person to open her heart to. But when's Grant's recovery is done and he heads back to professional hockey, will there be a place in his life for the small town store owner? First read from Skye Jordan, fun, sweet, sexy read. Intrigued to continue the series.

No rating because this was a DNF.
IT sounded like an interesting premise -I was expecting a fun small town romance, but immediately got the ick when the mmc essentially ignored the fmc saying no and turning him down like 4 times, and then after FINALLY leaving her shop/house, he said "she'll call me when she realises who I am". Hell no, his stomach has got to be see-through with how far up his own ass his head is.

OKAY NOW THIS ONE.... this one got me. This one stabbed me right in my cold little heart and had me kicking my feet with glee.
I actually read the second book in this series first without even realizing it was part of a collection. Which if you're wondering, just as enjoyable out of order. The author does a great job not calling TOO much attention to the other characters.
BUT I loved this one WAAAY MORE!
Maybe it's because I too am a small town girl who's father that I love dearly ran a hardware store my entire life.
Maybe because it doesn't try and touch on things with too much weight that can't be covered in the short time.
Maybe because it is a perfect, happy little small town Christmas romance!
I DON'T KNOW. But I loved it. I love these two.
My one complaint is going to be the same, and I feel like two books in now I need to get over it. But damn, I wish they were longer. I wish I had more time and got to see these two interact MORE. This book felt less jarring even though the story takes place over the same amount of time as the second does. But I didn't have a hard time believing their love at all. And I am a big nit picker of that!
docking a star purely because I NEED about 10 more chapters of these two. And I'm very picky with my 5th star.
