Going to grad school because you don't know what you want to do with your life and charging it to Daddy? I see enough of that in the real world. Dumb.

"A single bed, an airless room, and the riot of my possessions."

"I sympathize," Michael said, "although I'm not convinced that shrieking at a man for untold hours, while inebriated, is necessarily the best strategy to win him." He paused. "Although that was more or less how I started dating Elliot."

"Because it was really easy to prostrate yourself to love when you knew it would never work out. You weren't really risking anything."

This is one of my favorite books, probably because I also did a Master's in England and I feel the author does a great job of capturing the experience and the cultural quirkiness of living in England. It's like reading my own autobiography with an extra dose of humor thrown in.

This book is laugh out loud funny! It reminds me of my study abroad in England. I highly recommend it, and all of Megan Crane's books. The characters have a clear voice, and are a riot!

This was entertaining enough that I read the whole thing while flying from Savannah to Memphis, but I definitely prefer Megan Crane's more recent books. For one thing, the main character was drunk for at least 75% of the book. Skip this and read Frenemies instead. :)

After reading about 60 pages of this book, I came online to add it to my currently reading list and then had the most brilliant idea to check out reviews about it from other readers. Most of them pretty awful, and the best were just meh. But I actually really enjoyed it. I had no idea what was up when I borrowed this book from my library. I wasn't sure whether it was romance novel or coming-of-age type of thing. I just liked the cover. But it turned out to be one those blessedly easy reads, especially when one is also attempting to read Memoirs of a Geisha (which I'm only really doing because I only just watched the movie, loved the music, makeup and fan dancing!)

This was so funny, and I liked the ending. Granted, it didn't have much plot, but I didn't particularly care, because it was funny enough to make up for it.

I love this book because it reminds me of my summer in at Oxford although dislike all the smoking references a great fun book.

This is definitely chick lit but was not that heavy on the romance, which I quite liked about it. I would give it a 3, if I wasn't the same age as the main character and didn't regularly fantasize about doing my PhD in the UK, but since both of those things are true, I actually really liked it.
