Really liked the depiction of Barley's trauma in this, and seeing Violet again was nice! Very satisfying second chapter to this story.

I really enjoyed seeing more of bloodclan and Barley's connection to them.

I find it hard to believe that after all that, BloodClan could ever rise again. So I guess it's a relief that the cats that were 'reviving' it were so weak? Barley's back story wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped, and for once reading this I have come to realise (and am glad) that the series continued on (Midnight) with a generation skip. There are a lot of books set between The Prophecies Begin and The New Prophecy, but unless SkyClan is involved reading them just feel like flogging a dead horse half the time. The stakes are laid out to be high in volume 2, but they weren't really in the end. I just don't think the manga have much substance at all to be honest, although it is a continuing novelty to see our favourite cats as drawings on the page rather than images in our minds. The only thing is that Firestar looks nothing I like imagine him!

Volume 3 of this trilogy is going to be quite predictable, based on the usual outcome of the short stories. After all - they have to return to status quo to keep the storyline, so I'm not anticipating reading the last one as much as I perhaps should.

I feel like the stakes were set up to be much higher than the action, which was a little disappointing. Other than that, there weren't many other things that stood out to me enough to comment on.

It was so so good to see some more of the character growth for Barley. Barley is such an underused character and seeing himreunite with his littermates and fight was so good.
