This all felt too young for me. I was reading it for a book club and just couldn’t get into it.

Something about this book gripped me from the start and pulled me along until the very end. It’s not often that I can spend hours reading to no end, which is what this book enabled me to do - reading on my balcony until the sky turned dark and into the late hours of the night.  The feeling is indescribable and exactly what I long for in a book.

The worldbuilding, secret identities, and many colourful personalities and characters complimented with subtle prose, made for a beautiful read.

I look forward to the second novel of this debut duology, which I will definitely start tonight. :)

I wanted to dnf but because I also had the audiobook to listen too on a faster pase I pushed through anyway.
This was not for me at all. Maybe for 14 year old me but I did not enjoy this. The story was way to quickly, we rushed through everything. I didn´t care about any off the characters and it was mostly tell not show. So yeah no, I think I´ve officially outgrown ya fantasy I guess.
I didn´t like the main characters, she had way to many inner monologues complaining about the same things over and over and it was very tiring.
The story itself really had potential I just wished it was a lot slower and maybe told in 3 books or so. I was interested in the lore and the world but for me there was way to little of that but I guess I´m just more fan of high adult fantasy?

Anyway, I think 14 year old me would have loved this. So it wasn´t the worse I read and I do believe there are a lot of people who would love this, it´s just not me.

I don’t like the writing style. It felt like  I was reading random flashes in the main characters life. It felt really disconnected. It wasn’t cohesive.
Also the main plot twist was so predictable
