This was a lovely little book. I especially liked Will and his friends a lot. The romance was cute and there were also some moving conversations. The interwoven past timeline felt a bit out of place at first but it worked quite well in the end.

For a while I thought this was gonna be a near five star read, and overall I really did love the book. It's so light and fun and well-written and the characters are engaging. The central romantic relationship was a little flat but mostly super cute and I loved the ending, even if I never felt like the main couple were super engaging. The friendships and communities are what really shined for me, along with the delightful tone. Where it stumbled was the last quarter or so, when the third act breakup comes out of nowhere with some actions felt super out of character, particularly for Patrick. I was so engaged until that point and then I was just annoyed at how such a good thing went so sour. It did redeem itself at the end but I was still disappointed by some of the plot and how it dealt with the main relationship. I kind of get Patrick's struggle but also felt like it could have been executed better. But that aside, I can't downgrade this too much because for the majority of the time I was reading, I was absolutely loving this book. I would definitely read more from this author in the future. If you want a fun, funny story with lots of queer joy, drag queens, and found family, I would wholeheartedly recommend this.
