come and get it is a novel that meanders in the best way, and to me can best be described as a portrait of some really, really messy people. on one hand, everyone is kind of a nightmare, and on the other hand that's what makes the story interesting. it does take a long while to get to the "point" so for the plot-driven readers amongst us this one probably will not hit (or actually, those who like to have any semblance of plot because this is slice of life to the max) but if you love mess, oh boy. Oh Boy

Everyone here sucks, but that is the strength of the story. Reid demonstrates microaggressions, economic power plays, and female pecking order deftly.
