I loved Reid's first book and wanted to love this one too. I was disappointed. Pro: excellently builds up dread and unease as the characters make increasingly bad decisions. Cons: meandering structure. Character backstories were often more interesting than the main storyline.

Honestly was disappointed in this book and the story. It didn’t pull me in and I wasn’t obsessed with any of the characters. I LOVED Reid’s first book: Such a Fun Age. Would recommend that one over this one!

I read 3 books back to back that had multiple main characters and what I’m noticing is that I really don’t like this style. I feel like trying to go deep on so many characters is really hard to do so they seem really flat. I really could not tell you what the whole purpose of this book was after reading it. None of the characters stories got wrapped up in a way that showed any growth, it’s just like “the end”.
