I think this was my first contemporary book I read, and that was before i even knew what contemporary meant! Beautiful story. Rainbow Rowell is such a good writer! Thank you! :)

Okay, the most important thing I have to say about this book is that I didn't like its ending one little bit. I thought there would be more to it than that.... Kind of yelled that at the end... :|

Had an open ending leaving you to imagine vs a set in stone ending.

✨REVIEW✨
Eleanor and Park-Rainbow Rowell
Overall: 3.8/5
This book reminds me of a nice warm hug. An intense love story between two high schoolers is bound to have readers in their feels. Rainbow Rowell does a fantastic job at tackling taboo subjects such as domestic abuse. She also brings to light just how important it is to fight gender norms.
Eleanor and Park is a beautiful little love story of two teens growing up in very different environments and how they find deep connection over books and music. Eleanor is growing up in a hostile home while Park’s family seems almost too good to be true. The two of them learn that what they love most about each other is their differences.
After reading this I would give this book a solid 3.8/5. It was well written and touching but I did find it a bit stale in some parts and did not have the urge to pick it up as much as I should have. I would have liked to see more development between Eleanor and her mom as well as Eleanor and her siblings.
