This was an odd duck of a book. At first, it really hooked me, but as the story wore on I found myself losing interest and I deeply disliked the ending. It is open ended and that can be a good thing in some cases, and it can even add value to a story. But in this case the story felt extremely rushed at the end after feeling quite slow through the middle, and the ending being wide open to interpretation as well left me feeling a bit like I powered through the middle of the book for nothing, for there to be no point to the story.

I think Fangirl was much stronger stylistically and in story, but this was still a very strong book, though sadder.

It's basically a cute story that gives you warm and fuzzy feeling like most teenlit do.
However, Rainbow Rowell is trying too hard on picturing a hard life without actually going there. She just mentioned the bully and abuse but it's only on the surface.
I don't know... I'm trying to like this. And I actually kinda do. But some things are off. Still, it's a nice teenlit romance.
