as a child i felt (and tbh still feel) so much guilt and inadequacy cuz my social battery fluctuates q a lot and reading the science behind it + how my characteristics can be leveraged as traits is rly validating :)

I really enjoyed how approachable this book was, even though it was a somewhat dense and informative read. It was incredibly validating and also inspiring and I greatly appreciated the tangible suggestions for how to embrace your introversion and carve out space in a very extroverted world.

I actually think this book has some interesting information but I find non-fiction harder to get into so might try again later

"The secret to life is to put yourself in the right lighting. For some, it's a Broadway spotlight; for others, a lamplit desk. Use your natural powers -- of persistence, concentration, and insight -- to do work you love and work that matters. Solve problems. make art, think deeply."

I have been meaning to read this book for a long time. While I don’t experience all of the characteristics of an introvert, I do have a lot more than I even realized. But I also appreciated the way that Cain shares insights into extroverts, how to nurture them as well, how to, ultimately, strive for balance.
