A vignette from Selene and Emmanuelle's courtship, quite a long time prior to the events of A House of Shattered Wings. Beautifully written - I can't wait for the next book in this world!

A short story which explores love, magic and power in the Dominion of the Fallen setting. Just leaves me more determined to read the trilogy it links to.

The bonus chapter to House,of Shattered wings was much more compelling than the short story.

Gives us a bit more information about Emmanuelle and Selene's relationship and some of the back story of how Selene ends up where she is.
A nice short, but not required reading. It does help to provide new light on Selene's character and maybe make her a bit more sympathetic than she might come across in the main books.

Nice backstory

This is a nice shirt story and companion piece to The House of Shattered Wings. It's not deep or heavy but a quick foray into their lives.

A short and sweet teaser prequel for de Bodard's 'The House of Shattered Wings' that definitely whetted my appetite. Good job I already bought the latter!
