Looks like this is book one of a series, so I’m looking forward to more mysteries involving Great Aunt Frances’ files! There’s a lot of potential for a great series involving the village of Castle Knoll.

There are 2 timelines - the past where the story revolved around Frances and the present - where Frances is dead and Annabelle tried to solve her murder.
I found the past timeline to be a lot more interesting than the murdery mystery.
Maybe because it was more character-focused in the past.
I'd like to actually read more about Frances, Rose, and Emily's friendship
The present story on the other hand is almost purely plot driven where Annabelle is a Mary Sue for reader to self insert.
Overall it is a fun light reading. I suspect I would enjoy this more if I were in my teen.
Minor: Toxic friendship and Death
