3.5 stars. This is a tough one to rate. The start is very slow and confusing to me personally, and I had very little interest in the magazine aspect of this book and the majority of the characters. However, about half way through I started to get really gripped on the mystery solving side of the story and Lisbeth’s clever character.

Jag hade egentligen bara den här boken "för att man ska ha läst den". Men wow. Jag är inte ett jättestort fan av deckare, men jag satt BÄNKAD. Alltså så spännande och så många intriger, men också så otroligt sorglig och hemsk handling. Riktigt bra bok.

Honestly this book was really good. EXTREMELY slow at the beginning but has a very satisfying payoff. Very well written female characters, he gets me fr.

Not only did I really enjoy this trilogy, but I found it amazing that Steig Larsson could write three international best sellers with domestic/ gender abuse as a theme. I think most people I know would not have started the trilogy if that had been the selling point, but Larsson did an amazing job keeping the stories fast-paced, slightly scary and incredibly informational.

Best book I've read in awhile. Even though it was tough getting used to the Swedish names and not really relating to the location, I got over that quickly because the writing was so intriguing. I can't wait to read the other two books and this novel has definitely piqued my interest in the mystery/thriller genre. This book does live up to the hype everyone, and it should be read post-haste.

A bit graphic and took me a day or two really settle into the story, but then I couldn't put it down!!! I love the way the story is broken up into parts with stats on violence against women in Sweden. LOVE that. Salander=my best friend Candice in many ways. and that is both frightening and awesome.
