I read a lot of the reviews that spoke about how they disliked the perspective being of older people. I didn't find that a problem and rarely do, I enjoy books about old people, it's incredibly rare I find a book where the main character is an older person.
I also felt the age of the narrator was important for the story; missing details, confusion, the moments when it seems to slow for a bit. It all mattered for the story and I didn't find it to be a problem. I quite enjoyed it.
I loved all of the characters and their little quirks. I enjoyed how they were all entirely different to one another but somehow made the living situation work.
Truly I think I would've enjoyed this even if it wasn't a murder mystery! They're fun characters and it would be exciting to read about the crazy things they get up to with their little tortoise and dog.
That being said, I thought the murder mystery was good. I guessed part way through who it was, though which meant the surprise at the end wasn't really much of a surprise. Nonetheless it was enjoyable and not MASSIVELY quick, but still quick to read.
I'm not sure if recommend it to just anyone since I feel like it's quite a niche book, but I would recommend it to people who I know read things like this!

It took me a very long time to warm up to this book but even from the beginning I wanted to like it. I struggled a bit with the portrayal of the elderliness of the main characters - or rather the presentation of the byproduct of aging - but there's truth to it and it is essential to the story. This is an interesting one to say the least.
