This is silly and probably lends it self to comedy readers. The hot cold/back and forth between really upsetting subjects (described vaguely/only implied) and old people taking a tortoise to a cafe and calling it a mobility aid was too much for me.
Very slow paced; focused too much on the main character’s ramblings to be enjoyable for me, 33F. Maybe a more relevant demographic would enjoy it more.

What a waste of time. Is Alice: 1. Real? 2. If so, is she alive or dead? 3. If not, is Agnes experiencing hallucinations, blackouts, or small strokes? And most importantly, what do any of these questions have to do with the plot? To be honest, I thought all the characters lost the plot. A few times. Thankfully, I listened to this while doing chores so not all the time was completely wasted. LOTS of unnecessary filler. The author is no Richard Osman.
Quirky, indeed;too much for me. Despite being well along in years myself, I could not relate to this story at any level. I just gave up on it, which I rarely do
