I had high expectations for this. I unrealistically think books that skew older characters is going to be Thursday Murder Club and this book is not that. I felt like I dropped in mid series with referenced backgrounds but not clear of the history. Slowish paced, referenced a lot of pains of aging and memory loss all whole trying to solve 3 but really 2 murders. I found some characters annoying/unnecessary.

My first book by this author. But certainly not my last. A very pleasant couple of hours in the company of a fascinating cast of characters. Lots of delightful red herrings. Quite fun.

Happenstance played a pretty big role in the resolution of this mystery, but the characters and the pacing are wonderful! My copy of the book had a teaser chapter from the next book featuring these characters and I am ready to jump in!
