What the actual fuck. Sublime. Sublime!
This book is totally brilliant and beautiful. I will come back to say more...
Edit: some more to say .
I feel like the gender binary between the female and male lovers of this novel is composed by the sifting of one total set of universals over a grate with two holes, across which the grains of this one total set are shaken and disturbed from side-to-side until the depositories below these holes are evenly filled with grain and the grate on top is cleared of anything still total in form.
To me, that is a great way to write so compellingly a narrative about straight desire with a normative distinction between woman and man.

If you’re craving an emotional rollercoaster and want to change the way you view love, this book is perfect for you. Lispector writes with a rhythm and lyricism usually reserved for poetry, making it a truly delightful read.

This book had some of the most beautiful prose I've ever read. It was challenging to get through some parts and I've truly never read anything like it.
As a romance I hated it. As an introspective exploration of the human psyche and the plight of womanhood, I loved it. I felt Lori's struggles and inner monologues to my core. Her ongoing existential crisis as a woman was so relatable. Ulysses was awful and I wish Lori knew she didn't need him.

This book is a challenge. The writing structure is ROUGH to get through and the majority of the book feels like an unedited notes app entry. However the last 20% was pretty good. Wouldn’t read again but wouldn’t tell others to skip it.
