This book was just unnecessary filler. I don’t care much for the voice she’s given Cas and we really didn’t get much more insight on the story. I’m not sure why we needed to read the first book again (other than to let the prequel series catch up). The first and final chapter are the only new or important bits. Disappointing.

**not really a spoiler but I do have a theory**

3 stars only because it was literally one long recap with pretty much no new info… way longer than necessary.

But literally in last two pages- I have a theory! What if Poppy is the reincarnated Sotoria??? The Rev said “he had been waiting a long time for what is his”, meaning Kolis…

Poppy technically wakes up but then it ends so we still have no idea if she remembers herself.

I’d really like to get Kieran’s pov but I don’t need a 600 pg book recap…

This is mostly a retelling from Cas’ perspective but with a couple of real-time moments in between chapters. His perspective is so endearing and I felt like it genuinely added to the main story. … also THAT ENDING?!?!

Start: cas’ retelling while poppy is in the culling
End: he turns into a cat and poppy’s still asleep
dark funny medium-paced

i am not the biggest fan of books that are mainly flashbacks although i liked reading it from cas’s POV and appreciated the short chapters so it was good!! just nothing new or exciting really happened until
the last chapter

uh, this book was a waste of time and a cash grab. There is BARELY any new information at all. They could have just taken the new information and just added it to the first 50-100 (if that) of the next book of the series. Instead we are stuck recapping for over 600 pages in this book. I gave it 3 stars only because I personally enjoyed rereading a couple scenes from Cas’s pov but it was entirely necessary to have that.
I only recommend this book if you really don’t remember the prior books and the NEXT book is about to release, then you can read this one to recap yourself.

Cas is still daddy and hot. That is all.

3.75 ⭐ there was valuable info in the last 5%. Casteel's POV adds little to the story but it's pure comedy gold
