I enjoyed the storyline once it finally got into it. I felt like the beginning was really slow and picked up 60% in. The FMC’s inner dialogue was annoying at times but I enjoyed her sarcasm. I will definitely read book #2.

I really wanted to like this one, there were themes I tend to like but it just didn't come together for me and I found myself scheming most of the book.

This was a good book, a little more mature/adult-ish than I thought it would be, but it was good. I'm not sure if I want to continue the series, I wasn't totally into the plot. But maybe I will read the next book in a few months or something.

There is a lot going on in this book. The worldbuilding is an interesting take on Beauty and Beast but there were definitely some underdeveloped areas. I think there was a lot of potential for something completely transformative. Sometimes I was really into the plot and sometimes I just had to take a step back and say "what" because it just went a little overboard. Less is more sometimes. There were just way too many things going on. And the romance...not a fan. I like the couple but their romance is just strange to me.
