This book had me hooked straight away!

It always makes me nervous when books are described as 'like Gone Girl' or 'like the Girl on the Train' as it makes me think, they're basically saying 'like these amazing books but not as good'.

The Sister is amazing in its own right!

Although I guessed a few aspects, this book took me down more twists and turns than I was expecting!

Well worth a read

Loved this book the revelations at the end make it all make sense. It would be a 5 star but a bit of slow start. Once the plot picks up though….brace yourself bc when you think nothing else can happen…BOOM! I love the journey

Een verwarrend verhaal waarbij ik geen idee had wie nou wie was, en dan dat einde..

Wickedly creepy!
fast-paced

This thriller quickly became ridiculous as the story unfolded. The beginning was promising (about 25-30% through) I was still invested in the story, but then it just became very convoluted (too many events people, and storylines being shoved all together), and quite obvious story as it progressed.

It required a lot of suspension of disbelief especially in regard to the main character.

The main character Grace was unbelievably dense. I mean, things are happening left and right and she is still blundering through unaware of what is right in front of her face? No intuition, no alarm bells ringing in this women's head. Just blindly accepting and being confused. It was infuriating.

The past and present POVs got tiresome very quickly and just dragged the story. It took a lot of effort to finish this one, especially the last 20-25%

This took forever for me to get into unfortunately. Then I felt myself getting extremely annoyed with grace… you’re trying to do a good deed (which I can commend even if it seems foolish) but when your life starts turning upside down, you don’t even consider the fact it could be because of your recent “friendship”. I could just be hypercritical but I just wanted to enjoy it so much more than I did. The end does have a decent twist but it didn’t outweigh everything else for me.

Good Concept ✔️
Good characters ✔️
Too many places where you need to suspend reality to go with the story✔️
Wanted to love it, but wound up saying it was “fine.”
