I really enjoyed this one. On the surface it's an entertaining adventure with an interesting ensemble of characters, but I think there's a lot more happening underneath. Myths, Shakespeare, the heroes journey, storytellers, and the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves . . . I love a book that's fun to read AND makes me think!

I will read this again. It is such a wonderful coming of age story. I hope they don’t ruin it by turning it into a movie.

Disappointed that I just couldn’t get into this book, and I think the reason is that all the characters seemed like caricatures… I didn’t feel invested or connected to any of them… I skimmed the second half to get to the end. The end was fantastic. This book was not for me, but I can see why others love it.
