Not one for a thriller but I picked this up because it was a B&N pick of the month. Dual storyline dual timeline and highly confusing in the beginning. The author does not lay out the plot so you have to read to find out what the F she’s talking about. Slightly disturbing sexual storyline but definitely picked up at the end. I appreciated the ending as well. I would put this in my maybe pile. If you enjoy psychological thriller vibe this could be for you.

DISCLAIMER is a truly engaging debut by Renee Knight, and a psychological thriller I will not soon forget. The story seems at first very simple, Catherine receives a book, which recounts a story she is all too familiar with - her own. As the story unfolds, we are told what happens through multiple POVs, which i always enjoy when it is done well, as it is here. It quickly becomes clear, that not all is as it seemed initially, and that the dubious book serves as the catalyst for some major revelations, and the ending definitely surprised me.
I read a fair amount of crime fiction, and this book really stood out as clever, original, while quite tragic as well. I look forward to whatever Knight comes up with next!

Like most reviews say, fascinating premise that held my interest to the end. A fast page-turner. Good as a thriller but also an interesting representation of how a single event can be perceived, experienced, and interpreted in completely different ways by different people.

This book is totally my sort of thing. I absolutely loved it, thought it was twisty, thrilling and really made you think. The characters were really good and developed well throughout the book.
My only critique is that the small twist at the end was said more as a passing thing and was not further explored.

Gostei. Eu dividida. Sei que é um livro que me conquistou imenso, mas sinto que faltou algo. Surpreendeu-me bastante, contudo esperava outro final. Mais dramático e intenso - sim, sei que a ideia é dramática, mas foi contado muito ao de leve.
Em tudo o resto, não posso apontar nada! Foi uma surpresa constante, certamente 4,5 estrelas é a pontuação correta.

The premise for the book is 10/10, but the execution and overall story are a disappointing 2. It was boring and the constant shift of time periods and perspectives did nothing but confuse and stunt the pace of the story. None of the characters I connected with and didn't care much about as they were flat and had basic human emotions of expression and everyone was ghastly and unlikable. The whole 'don't judge a book by its cover' I guess applies here, but the lesson or point of the story was weak. It took a lot of effort to finish as I wanted to know the ending, which I suspected in the beginning. It was a meh ending and a meh book.
