I loved the format of a letter to the author's son. This book brings  some peace and understanding to all the chaos and contradictions in the greater discussion about living black. Just read it, its so good.

So many thoughts swirl around in my head. I'm not sure how to articulate them so they make sense. The passion behind Coates' writing hits you like a wall. And the reality of the circumstances people of color face every day simply for being brown, black, yellow, red, tan...my heart cracks into dust. Coates clinches the desire within me to be fearless in the face of injustice. For the humanity of every single people who is any other shade besides white, it is our duty as humans to stand up and push back.

We only get one body. Any color, any ability, any culture, any religion, any gender, we have to take care of each other and ourselves.
