This book is brilliant. It gives context and insight to the Chronicles series and has softened my opinion towards Sturm, a character I had little sympathy for. Also they go to the moon?? What's with that?? Gnomes from the Krynn setting will always have a special place in my heart.

I didn't like this one much even when I was a Dragonlance nut. It's the story of Sturm and Kitiara before the story begins in the Chronicles trilogy, and it involves Gnomes, a rocketship to the red moon, and much more rather over-fantastic bits to the story that otherwise left me a little cold.
