Kevin Smith is a funny guy who loves his wife. Not for the easily offended.

This is an enjoyable read -

The hardest part of this biography for me is the overuse of profanity, which being that it is Kevin Smith, you have to expect that.

The thing that I did appreciate was his approach to becoming the writer and the movie personality that he is. I did not need the overly detailed portions about he and his wife, so I skipped those, but overall, this has some inspirational moments and thoughtful ones to boot.

If you are a Kevin Smith fan, then by all means read this, but if you are a Bruce Willis fan, do not read about Cop Out - skip that section all together - trust me - and enjoy.

Listened to it on audio in a day. Interesting stories, unexpected sports metaphors and raunchy humor that I'm familiar with when it comes to one of my faves. It's fun.

I finished this book in one day. 3/4 of the book, I was snorting quietly under my breath, laughing and loving and just generally feeling warm and fuzzy.

And then my truly beloved employer pulled half of our office into a break room and told us we were all losing our jobs in two months.

Needless to say, in order for me to get through the rest of the day while still maintaining some modicum of self control, I stuck both earbuds into my ears, and allowed Kevin Smith's discussion of his wife's vagina to pretty much destroy what remained of my eardrum.

Thank you, Kevin Smith. Thank you for wanting to make movies, and wanting to fight against the norm. Thank you for bringing the brash and bold of Clerks to this book, and pumping up the volume.

Thank you for allowing me get through a super awful Tough Shit kind of day, red faced and puffy and holding my shit together by the tiniest of shreds, but still working.

A really fun book to get through, although some of the jokes were very late 90s. I really appreciate his insights on being fat.

This book was hilarious! Kevin Smith really has a way with words that makes you want to keep reading! Learning about the early starts of his career is fascinating and I am an even bigger fan after reading. I highly recommend this book for anyone even if you don’t know who Kevin Smith is, I guarantee you’ll wanna watch all his movies after reading (even the mediocre ones… sorry Kevin!)

This has been on my to-read list for a decade. I’m sad I waited so long to read it. Narrated by the man himself, the audiobook is the only way to get the full side-splitting experience that is this book. Endlessly hilarious, from start to finish. Fuck, I already want to listen to it again!
