Big thanks to the author and NB Publishers for sending this my way and having me on the blog tour.

YAY FOR SOUTH AFRICAN QUEER REP!!

I read this book mainly in one sitting and it was so refreshing. I loved seeing places I'd visited through the pages of a book. I thought the writing style was really lovely and the descriptions were so spot on.

And the romance? SO ADORABLE. I was very much rooting for them. We're here for the sapphics!! They truly did have such a wonderful relationship <3

My only issues were that I felt like the dialogue was slightly corny at times, not too much but still there. And even though I liked them sometimes, I think there was just too much SA slang and lingo that was unnecessary for such a short book. Just a personal preference. Also, men suck and they needed to back off so I CAN START SLAPPING.

There were also some eye-roll moments at Naomi. But she's young and naive and I totally understand how sixteen-year-olds act hehe.

But the setting was really well done, I was very much immersed in the world and could imagine myself by the beach and with these characters. It had a lovely atmosphere.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I couldn't stop reading and we had... MANY emotions.

Trigger warnings for slut-shaming, attempted physical assault and slight fatphobia.

Firstly, wish I had Naomi's ability to remember quotes.

A very necessary book in South African YA. Partridge has provided us with a beautiful F/F romance, filled with whimsy and the joy of summer. An immersive experience of Jeffrey's Bay, I'm even more eager to visit it now!
