It’s been about 2 or 3 years since I’ve cracked opened a Jennifer Hartmann book, so I decided to dive into this one without thinking much of it.

Everly has been captivity for two years now when Isaac (Nick) enters the picture. Isaac is abducted while undercover, trying to find the missing pieces to his sister’s disappearance. Isaac and Everly open up to each other, although Isaac is harboring secrets that he doesn’t tell Everly until the last 30% of the book

Started off really well
but after they escape she decides to become a stripper!!! That after two years captivity the repercussions and ptsd was not addressed at all not even glossed over. It just all felt off. The villains were background scenery.

Disappointed me…. Was not as dark as I would have liked it to be. I only wanted to read it because of the captivity part but halfway through and they’re already out….

yall know I'm a jennifer hartmann GIRL but this just didn't do it for me. I honestly was pretty bored and uninterested & compared to still beating which has a similar concept this wasnt as good. like it was just FINE
