Brief summary
Lizzy is a cupcake baker who just inherited a house from her aunt. Her life is pretty ordinary until a guy named Diesel shows up and claims he needs her help finding ancient stones that each represent one of the seven deadly sins. Lizzy thinks he might be crazy at first, but it's starts getting harder and harder for her to pretend that he's not nuts and that she's just your average girl.
What I liked
Everything! I love Lizzy and Diesel. Lizzy is a great MC. It was so easy for me to get inside her head! I was so absorbed in this book that it was like I was there. Diesel is just as sexy and fun as he was in the inbetweener Stephanie Plum novels, but this time I can actually root for him to get the girl (I'm firmly on Team Morelli for Stephanie! Lol)!
What I didn't like
I have no complaints. Seriously. None :D
Brief thoughts
I'm a huge fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and I can already tell that I'm going to love Lizzy and Diesel's series just as much! I love Ms. Evanovich's writing style. I get sucked right into the story every time. This book is a funny and entertaining read. Next up, Wicked Business!

The first Evanovich book I read was the Stephanie Plum series. It didn't turn out so well. I ended up hating it. Stephanie grated my nerves so much!
(So....I've learned not to take these books seriously. Because if I do, I'll just get turned off)
Anyway...I decided to give her another chance. So, here I am reading the Lizzy & Diesel series. And, I have to say I enjoyed it. 0-0
I was surprised I ended the book with a good feeling.
Loved Lizzy and Diesel together, they had this easy teasing banter between them. I like that romance, or getting in each other pants wasn't the main focus. I mean it was hinted here and there, but it was never really taken seriously. The premise of the book was interesting and I can get on that train.
Wish there was more Wulf/Diesel interaction though. That little moment they had outside the guy's house was cute. Then there's Clara and Glo. The one-eyed cat and Carl the monkey. Everyone was pretty much alright.
I'm willing to continue this series. We'll see how it goes from here...

Not my favorite Evanovich title in the world, but still entertaining. I can only assume that this was Janet Evanovich's answer to the previously-trending popularity of occult-based fiction, which, now that that phase has passed, makes me wonder whether we'll ever hear any more out of Lizzie & Diesel after Wicked Business.
I think the thing that most didn't work for me here was the audio factor. Lorelei King is a good reader, but in this case, it seemed that most every character had at least a vague southern accent, which really didn't work for me in the Massachusettes setting. Lizzie lived in New York prior to moving to Salem, so....how did that happen?
Anywho, moving on. We all know I'll read/listen to Wicked Business anyway, so I might as well set about it.

When I pick this book up I actually didn't realize that it was written by the same author that did the Plum books. I wasn't a big fan of those so I was a bit surprised that I liked this book so much. It took me a while to get past the writing style, which was very jerky. It doesn't seem to flow very well and it makes it a little hard to read. The story itself was very entertaining, even with the complete weirdness of a one eyed cat, a monkey, and a crazy man running around as a knight. I find it a bit odd that everyone in the entire story just takes everything as it comes and doesn't freak out. Lizzy never seems all that bothered that some strange guy appears in her house and just won't leave. I think most women would react a bit differently, even though he was hot. I guess the laid back weirdness of the book is part of what makes it so funny though. I probably won't ever read a Plum book again, but I will definitely read more of this series.
Had fun reading this quick no brainer. Liked it just as much as the plum books.
After about 70 pages, I had to put this down. I tried to enjoy it, but the characters were annoying, the tone of the story felt off (Janet tried too hard to make the book funny and sarcastic), and it just wasn't realistic. The main character had no problem with believing everything thrown at her. She just went with it like she was used to things like that happening everyday.
This just wasn't my cup of tea.

Heavy on the unnecessary details, light on anything interesting.
Okay, comparatively this book is 3 stars. But if you just want something a bit mindless and decently entertaining this’ll do a pretty good job.

3.5
A fluffy, fun, fast-paced book that's definately a beach read/guilty pleasure sort of book.
Is there anyyy literary value? 100% nope.
It's almost a knock-off/spoof of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - gotta save the world but bake some cupcakes too.
A lot of parts that made ma giggle and lots that made me roll my eyes. I enjoyed this one as a quick entertaining read but I probably won't finish the series.
