NOt as good as Stephanie Plum, but still worth a read.

I loved Carl the naughty monkey, and Cat. Diesel sounds hot and the book is hilarious

Never read any of Janet Evanovich's books but I really enjoyed this one. It's pretty funny; I was surprised. There's the typical hot guy who comes to rescue the girl, girl resists his advances but in the end gives in schtick. Overall I liked it though and I'll probably finish/keep up with the series.

Ok

The relationship made this so awkward. I want to rewrite this

Another hilarious book by Evanovich. The cat and the monkey steal the show! I hope there's a 2nd one to this, kinda leaves off with room for more.

Lizzy and Diesel have to find the charms that make up the Gluttony Stone before Diesel's brother Wulf finds them. The charms cause Lizzy to adopt different addictions throughout the book. She becomes obsessed with food, spanking, having babies, etc... This book was so funny. It was a light and easy read and I really loved the ride.

There are some really crazy things in this story. Lizzy adopts a one eyed cat with a half missing tail that she unknowingly already has a connection to. Lizzy and Diesel end up taking care of a crazy monkey named Carl that loves to give the finger to everyone and everything. The monkey was hilarious!

Lizzy is gifted at making cupcakes and works in a bakery. This is one of her powers as an Unmentionable. One of her co-workers wants to be a wizard and tries several spells that never seem to turn out right.

This is probably my favorite of Janet Evanovich's books so far. It had me laughing out loud a bunch of times. I would recommend to anyone.

I picked this up for a 'light read', only to discover that at one point in my life I've read this before. It clearly wasn't memorable if I completely forgot that I've read it, but I am going to keep reading to see what happens because it is enjoyable. It was one of those very strong deja vu moments as I just sat repeating to myself, "Have I read this before?"

I just finished it, and yup, I've definitely read this before.

I certainly got the light read that I was looking for, and I'll probably keep reading the series, but this really wasn't very good. The characters were very flat, the "romantic tension" did nothing for me, and Diesel was super condescending and perhaps misogynistic? Plus, even though I've never read Evanovich before, the formula was just so obvious.

Now let me be clear, I am comparing this to other "light reads" when I am giving it two stars, not literary masterpieces. It just wasn't as fun, snarky, and engaging as it could have been.

A good book if you want something to read in just a few hours. The story goes down easily and is entertaining enough to make me want to continue reading the series.
