I stumbled across this purely by accident, and I just had to read it! I mean I love Jane Austen, and having a gentlemen's tour combined with a LGBTQA+ theme, and a lot of adventure, what is not to love?
And I even got a special happy surprise, as it turned out to even a slight fantasy subplot as well - which obviously a triple plus for my SFF addicted soul.
I loved the three main characters!
Percy for being the steadying role in Monty's life, and sticking with him despite Monty being a very spoiled and quite a brat at times.
Monty for being a charming, flirtatious little rebel, who doesn't care about proper etiquette and rather lives a life he enjoys. He's not only a flighty one though, but has a great heart as well.
Felicity for being the "third wheel" in their adventure, and as the girl being supposed to stay in the back. Maybe faint and need to be rescued. But no. Oh no! Not her. She's much rather in the middle of the action, not Happy at all with her role, and instead often being the driving force of the trio! (Oh how I can't wait to read her own adventures in the sequel!)
And I especially loved to see them grow and learn along the way. Growing up from being young and definitely a bit naive to see how the world actually works, and how easy it is to hurt people. Opening their eyes to their own choices and decisions being more important than "fate" or what is expected of them.
A lot of adventures, plenty of running away, so much "what on earth are we supposed to do now?" make for a gripping and fast paced read.
Dealing with topics like being ill, different, going against societies expectations or caring for relationships gave it depth and made it so much more than just a fun romp.
My only gripe where a few things just being a bit too far fetched (and I'm not talking about the fantasy aspect), and at times it all went so fast I wanted a bit more focus on some scenes.
Even with that this was a fantastic read, and I am already looking forward to more!

In a sentence I loved the book so much. Though it was set in the eighteenth century I could still relate so much to the characters emotionally. I love adventures and used to be geek of detective books so this was really amazing and made better with the utterly fluffy gayness. uggghh. LOVED IT.
This is the kind of grand tour I would imagine for myself actually. There's literally everything in this book and its life changing.
Writing in a separate paragraph cause queen Felicity deserves so. I love her and basically everything about her so much. I just finished this book and I am literally sprinting off to read The Lady's Guide to Petticoats Piracy.
