4 1/2 stars. This was just delightful! A grand adventure, delicious pining, beautiful language, the works. The story honestly kept me guessing at times and I loved when I anticipated a zig, and it zagged instead. I love Monty with all his self-absorbed, rakish charm, even when I wanted to smack him upside the head (which happened more than once) and Percy stole my heart. But Felicity was a real treat that I wasn't anticipating and I really look forward to reading the next book centering her.

My only complaint, and it's a selfish one,

is the book stayed in the PG-13 zone and uh, I have to admit, I wanted more.

But that's a minor quibble. This was so much fun to read!

3.5/5, but leaning more towards 3 stars. Why? Mainly because of my high expectations. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed this book a lot more a few years ago, back when I read a lot of YA - but sadly, I didn’t care too much about the plot or the characters.

Completely and utterly adorable, fun, and tender. I’m a sucker for a good historical fiction novel and good YA, and if a book happens to be both AND queer, so much the better. A quick little read that will make you say “awwww!” constantly.

Este libro es por mucho el mejor que he leído este corto año. Los momentos de amor entre Monty y Percy lograron que sintiera su amor por el otro. Así como la increíble manera de escribir de la autora. Pude sentir todo tipo de emociones, me aterrorice como Monty pero también amé como Percy. Definitivamente me leeré lo demás de la autora.
