This book was very fun and fast-paced. The characters were developed well and the book was a fast read. However, what stood out for me was the historical context. The main relationship is between two men, one being biracial. However, it wasn't just a gay relationship despite the time period; it was a gay relationship IN the time period. The people involved faced the same troubles that a similar relationship would have faced around the 18th century. This theme continues throughout the whole story, with the conflicts and struggles being both entertaining and historically accurate. The story doesn't erase the history of people who aren't straight, white, and cis, with many sexualities and types of people represented in an accurate and developed way. There were a few slow parts to the plot, despite the fast pace, but overall it was a very good book with many important themes I think are important to a historical fiction.

Correcto, sin más. Lo mejor son las dinámicas entre los personajes y el desastre sarcástico de protagonista. Por desgracia, la trama no acompaña, y me ha resultado insulsa, inverosímil y, la mayor parte del tiempo, aburrida. Además de eso, la parte histórica me parece bastante mal llevada. ¿Qué es esa facilidad con la que los personajes se mueven por la Europa del sur sin poder decir una palabra en otro idioma que no sea inglés y todo el mundo, incluso gente que por su clase social probablemente no sabría ni leer y escribir en esa época, los entiende? Es todo muy anglocéntrico, una Europa "exótica" para darle color a la trama aburrida, y eso me ha sacado aún más de la historia.

I enjoyed this book, it was a fun read, Monty was witty and funny. I enjoyed the relationships formed in this book.
When he leaves for his Grand Tour of Europe, with his younger sister Felicity and his best friend and his crush Percy, things start to unfold. Pirates, adventure, romance, everything is in this book.
