I felt it was a little too whiny and not that much about the show

This made me cry so many times. I love this show so much and I think there were so many great things captured in this book. It only made me love these characters, people, and show more.

The perfect read for any Parks and Rec fans! Jim O’Heir writes about many stories behind the scenes, including network insights from show runners Greg Daniels and Mike Schur which I found particularly interesting. O’Heir recounts many stories on and off set, and incorporates some personal memoir of his experience in the Hollywood industry. He is so relatable and vulnerable, and it’s certainly one of the more relatable celebrity memoirs I’ve listened to. He is so wholesome and brings such upstanding integrity; he uplifts every cast and crew member in a  sincere way. This audiobook really made me appreciate Jim O’Heir and Jerry/Garry/Larry in a way I haven’t before, as well as all the people working behind the scenes to keep Parks and Rec running despite threats of cancellation. I learned a lot about the Hollywood industry and how network TV works as well. My only knock is that they really shouldn’t have had other narrators do voices for Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, and Rhetta!

Very mid - loved the stories of Pawnee and Parks - but it wasn’t as engaging as I thought it would be. Idk what it was but it just didn’t hit.

I thought this was going to be a full history of the show but it was actually Jim O’Heir’s memoir wrapped up in a story about Parks & Rec! The show that changed Jim’s life and the way he became a part of pop culture history with his oafish ways as Jerry Gergich!

This was such a fun book and just like the office I would love to have more books about the way modern TV sitcoms have helped us cope with our situations!
