Twisted Lies by Ana Huang

This book felt like a drug induced hallucination. Dropped after the haze wore off.

Shut up about his whiskey eyes.

Twisted Lies was a captivating read with some standout moments, especially when it came to the romance between Stella and Christian. Their chemistry felt real, and I appreciated how their relationship developed over time, slow burn but rewarding. The dynamic between them added layers to the story, and I found myself rooting for them.

Christian's character was a definite highlight. His growth was compelling, with a well-crafted backstory that even connected to Twisted Hate, which gave depth and context to his actions. He had some intense scenes, though, where the violence was a bit too detailed for my taste. Thankfully, these scenes were not directed at Stella, but it was still something I felt could’ve been toned down.

On the other hand, Stella’s character arc left me wanting more. Her growth often depended on Christian rather than coming from within. It felt like there was potential for her to be a stronger, more independent character, which would have made her story even more powerful.

Despite that, there were some beautiful lines that I absolutely loved. Christian’s words, “My dream is to be with you. And my biggest fear, is losing you,” were especially memorable.

Overall, Twisted Lies was enjoyable with a well-crafted romance and complex hero, even if it left a bit to be desired for Stella's individual journey.

There it is, the finale of the twisted series. This one is my second fav of the series. It was a heck of a lot slower than I expected it would be. It was entertaining. I don't think I'll be reading this series again, and I honestly can't believe this is some people's fav series. Power to them, but it couldn't be me

Het boek was oké, maar de morally grey male characters zijn niet mijn favoriet. Ze moeten zeker niet perfect zijn, maar dit is niet helemaal mijn ding.

It could have been 100 pages shorter. The book kept repeating events and I just wanted it to move on. I like Stella & Christian’s stories but it took a LONG time to get here. The end of the book is nice…it wraps it up and lets you know where the characters are in their lives.

An intense but sweet ending to the Twisted series. The fake dating trope seemed non-existent because Christian was obsessed with Stella from the beginning and they both knew the fake dating was going to blow up in their faces lol Christian never really denied his wants with Stella and he 1000% has the "touch, look at, think about or talk to her and you die" vibe.. literally. The reason his interest (obsession) with her became a thing was odd and seemed lacking. It low-key disturbed me the way he went about it, and I've read darker stuff. They definitely seem like an odd match but so do the other couples from the series, minus Josh and Jules.

It was nice getting a ending that wrapped up each couples lives after being together for years and even Christan and Stella's h.e.a. This one definitely goes back to the first book regarding the brutality and darkness of it. Favorite scene was Christian and his letters... 💌🥲. Majority of the book is a build up of their relationship and spice (with some kink) finally hits over halfway through. Also, the stalker issue seemed like such a side issue because it wasn't as prevalent as I figured it would have been and was over so quick once something actually happened.
I enjoyed the overall story because I always enjoy a guy pinning after a woman! Plus, reading about a successful hardworking woman is also a great bonus.

I mainly listened to the audiobook then finished it off with the physical but the narrator's did a wonderful job!
