I was actually pretty reluctant to read this, like I was reluctant to read Matched and other books with girls in pretty dresses on the cover ( I am still a 8 year old who thinks dresses mean princess). I didn't like princesses when I was 8, and I don't now. I don't want to read books with half of the words in it nobody uses. I thought it would be about high tea and dainty little picnics. And maybe it is a tiny bit, but at least America isn't like that. And that's the best part. Cuz she prefers jeans over big puffy tulle things called dresses.
Ok honestly I love this book, just not the love triangle. I honestly like America and Maxon better than America and Aspen. I always saw Aspen as a jerk and I never really thought that America belonged with him. I personally just like Maxon better. But overall, 9.9/10⭐
P.S I'm pretty sure you can infer this, but I'm on team Maxon lol. He's just better.

I remember loving these so much when they first came out, but... I was 10. I don't think its target audience is very old (certainly not the age I am now), but reflecting back on it, the plot and tone are very mediocre.

10-12 year old me would’ve défini ate this up, I definitely see why it was popular in the past but I still have no idea what Maxon looks like besides him having strong arms and sleek hair??

One moment I'm only a few chapters in, the next the book is over. Just like every book I read, I was very unsure about this book from the start. I honestly was going to DNF it but I just couldn't. If we are being completely honest, in normal circumstances, this book probably would not have been finished tonight. I started this book maybe a month ago but was using the audiobook, so I did wait until that was available again to keep reading this book, which in turn made my reading time longer. Even the last few days, I would read a page to maybe a chapter before putting it down. But today, I sat down to read just one chapter, and like I said before, the next thing I knew the book was over.
I was really worried this book would not live up to the hype but here we are with my first five-star book of 2022. I love Maxon to death and America is so easy to relate to. I'm not sure how I feel about Aspen yet but considering we haven't seen much of him, I'm sure that will change. I set a rule that I was not allowed to buy any books until I read 10, this series is about to make me break that rule. It seems obvious how this story will end but in reality, I don't know and I am excited to find out.

Maxon je jasným konkurentem Warnera a Aspen spadá někam k Adamovi. America by si zasloužila pár facek, ale je to bomba!
Rereading 2023: Maxon je TAK CUTE. To je strašný.
