This audio was hilarious! I just could not get enough. I found it super relatable and very down to earth (as much as it could be, I guess). I’m not a huge fan of the cover but that doesn’t contribute to the story so I can overlook that.
DNF literally less than 5% in. I got really bad vibes about how Rebel was going to be talking about her weight loss (internalized fatphobia, etc) and checked some reviews, and decided to bail.

I bought the audio book read by the actress herself and loved it. At times her story was a sad emotional rollercoaster.
She cried during the parts about her dad, I cried with her. I cried with joy when she met the love of her life. I teared up when she finally got her baby. Choked up when she talked about letting go of the years of weight that she kept as a protective layer. How she never celebrated herself until she was 40.
It was such a good listen, like talking to a long time friend about her struggles with life. I really identified with all the ways she mistreated herself with food and how much she tied to people please. How she worked twice as hard to show she was an equal in fatphobic Hollywood. How she was so constantly driven to be better. To do better. Frankly, it's impressive.
I found myself identifying with her struggles over her body image and not wanting to upset people over body positivity. Ultimately, you can't please everybody.
I found her story hopeful.

I enjoyed this book & rebels story. The timeline seems confusing at times and I kept going back thinking I’d missed something. But she’d just fast forwarded and it wasn’t entirely clear. I read a few reviews that criticized this book being a lot about her weight-but I think that’s just something that you don’t realize is a big thing unless you’ve dealt with it. I enjoyed rebels journey to bettering her health and related to a lot of it. Late night binging! It was fun hearing about her time on sets on bridesmaids and pitch perfect but would have enjoyed more of that! Overall I enjoyed the book and felt inspired by rebels story, but wouldn’t read again or feel compelled to recommend.
