I simply love these books. Not sure why it took me a year to read the second but everyone needs to read these cozy faerie regency romances!!! (Start with Half a Soul)

I really liked the first book but book two in the series didn’t quite give me the same feeling

I think the storyline was good, I enjoyed the plot and the cute romance but I felt the author was just beating us over the head with the “lesson”. Like I 100% agree that maids should speak up about bad treatment and work conditions l, don’t get me wrong. I just didn’t need to be reminded of it that many times I think every chapter had some dialogue internal or in conversation about the way maids are treated.

Some parts also felt unrealistic. Although Effie admits it in the end, she was so all in on Benedict but she didn’t know the first thing about him. I also don’t think Eddie would have gone as far as getting involved in a physical altercation with the Lord of the house. She probably would have said something and that was pushing it but to get physically involved was a lot and I didn’t really buy it
