This book was fun to read. Tripp and Lyla are characters you care about and root for. I love that the book focuses on the power of music in our lives. The parents were a bit too overbearing and deaf to the needs of their kids, and a bit too quick to do a 180, but I can overlook that because I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

2nd reading: I enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time. Can't wait to discuss it tomorrow with the Rabid Readers at our first virtual book party!

It’s difficult for me to evaluate this book accurately because it was a nostalgia read, but it always pulls at my heart strings!

this was a really sweet book, a beautiful friendship and i love their little notes. i love tripp and lyla they're good characters and i feel bad for both of them really. their songs were kinda dumb tbh but it was still really cute. also i fucking hate annie she's genuinely the worst i hope she perishes. the end made me sob so hard but whats new. very short and easy read i recommend

I loves everything about this book. The characters were well written and the story was brilliant. I enjoyed reading about the characters relationships and the way that they developed over the course of the story. The idea of leaving notes for a person that you have never met and getting to know them based on two or three sentences every other day is thrilling. I think I just love the idea of notes and letters...

I enjoyed the interactions between the characters. I love the notes. I love how real and relatable this book was. It was heart wrenching near the end and I'm typically not a softie over books, but this one had me shed tears. I do hate how toxic Annie was, how the parents were antagonistic, and the wrapup at the end. But overall, a great book and I will definitely try the songs myself!

Quick thoughts: I loved this book, and I loved all the lyrics written for the songs. But I didn't like the songs. I went to the website to listen to the songs *after* I finished the book, thank goodness, or I might've stopped reading right there. More to come soon.

Wow! Every time I read a book that talks about music, I wish I could hear the music. The thrumsociety webpage made it happen. The Pomegranate Waltz was touching. I wish I could have been that creative back in high school.
