desperately want to go back and listen to this as an audiobook, but in the meantime, I had hit my music on shuffle and when Miles Caton started singing "I Lied To You" and it lined up w the juke joint scene in the book, i had a mild out-of-body experience

Honestly this is the best book I’ve read this year. The way it captured me. I couldn’t sleep without finishing it. The world it portrayed, I saw it so clearly so vividly. I loved the main character, flaws and all. Truly such an amazing work of art.
