This book was not my favorite. Like the first, I struggled to be invested in the characters. Also, while Nessa grew, I really didn’t start caring about her until over halfway. Strange choice to make her book second in the series tbh. I am also struggling to get over the fact that these supposed mafia families are so easy to forgive….

Echt een super goed boek!
Belle en het Beest is mijn favoriete sprookje en dit boek is een soort van duistere retelling. Het verhaal is mooi, intens, spannend en om bij weg te dromen.
Dit is echt 1 van mijn favoriete boeken.
Sophie Lark haar schrijfstijl vind ik erg fijn. Ze heeft een leuke, vlotte schrijfstijl. De spicy scènes zijn goed door het verhaal verweven. Ze passen echt in het verhaal en het is netjes omschreven. Verder kan je dit boek als standalone lezen ondanks dat het een deel van een serie is. Zelf vind ik dit prettig.
Het boek krijgt voor mij 5 sterren, net als het eerste deel van the Brutal Birthright serie. Echter vind ik dit verhaal nog beter dan het eerste deel.
