This was an improvement on the first book, a lot more actual plot progression and character development happened. It did have one of my least favorite tropes make an appearance in the latter half push other character away and seemingly betray them FoR tHeIr OwN gOoD which annoyed me but fortunately the fallout didn’t drag on forever.
