This book was absolutely delicious. I was eating up the revenge plot like a beautiful feast. Every detail was so perfectly calculated and I was on the edge of my seat for most of the story. I loved the feeling of being confused by how a certain character or action fits into the plot only to have it completely pay off a few chapters later. I also loved how the Count treated all of these characters like pawns in his grand plan, even the ones that I genuinely liked. Albert was the only character that I was going to be sad to let go for the Count’s plan to work, but I absolutely loved his character development and how his arc ended. I was so satisfied with how everything turned out and everyone absolutely got what was coming to them one way or another (except maybe Edward but like fuck them kids). Noirtier was THE CHARACTER for me and I can see the influence he has had in other books and movies I’ve read. This may be the longest book I’ve ever read but the action, intrigue, and adventure made the life of Edmund Dantes fly by.

one of the best books i have ever read. it may be around 200 pages, but i dont think they ever weighted on me, it kept me hooked and never let me go.
it made me feels so many emotions — i was feeling dante's planning, his desperation, his force to just keep going.
i loved a lots of things about this book but i want to keep my review short because i can't stress enough how everyone should read it.
it's long and it may be scary to approach, but it flows like a dream and some quotes and descriptions are just so lovely.
it's a book full of twists, events and characters , and honestly its the only book that ever made me cry ! when abbe farina died i was just so sad.
that said, i hope you all will love Dante and this as much as I do !! and, as he would say, wait and hope !

A very long, but very good book. The book read like a movie or television show and kept me interested the entire time. If you've got a lot of time on your hands or are a very fast reader I would recommend this one.

This book has been on my TBR list for almost 30 years. I finally began it, doing so in the Audible version narrated by John Lee. The story is flawless. The writing is flawless. The performance by John Lee was flawless. For such a long book (46 hrs, 1200 pages), it had never a dull moment. Every sentence is unmissable. I thoroughly enjoyed it ND recommend it whole heartedly.

If this book is on your TBR list.... Please read it. It is a gripping, enjoyable, fascinating read.

FINALLY, I HAVE HAD THE ABSOLUTE PLEASURE OF READING MY MOST ANTICIPATED READ FOR SOME TIME, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO BY ALEXANDRE DUMAS!!!

It is a tale of revenge, considered a magnum opus of Alexandre dumas, and is inspired by the real life events of dumas' own father.

It follows the story of a sailor named edmund dantes who is put in jail after falsely accused of being a Bonapartist.
It is full of drama, lies, deception and betrayal, and when he is finally avenged and ruination is brought, it is very sweet and satisfying. And the way everything comes together is just a testament to the genius of dumas.

Edmund Dantes as a main character shines throughout the book with his effortless charm, wit, goodness and just being a menace when he needs to be.
The other characters are also very well written & intriguing so you feel invested wholeheartedly in each arc.

It is very rare that you read a book this big and yet don't feel it coz it's so exciting, so beautifully written and just flows effortlessly that you can't stop reading it. It is simply mind blowing, jaw dropping exhilarating and heartwarming all at once.

It was also one of my longest buddyreads ever (only remains defeated by war and peace) and yet we managed to finish it in less than a month yayyy. And i had the best time reading it, discussing it (and wow, there was A LOT to discuss fortunately) and going crazy over everything that was happening in the book.
Very easily THE BEST READ OF THE YEAR SO FAR. AND ONE OF THE BEST READING EXPERIENCES EVER.... 10/10 would recommend to everyone even if you're intimidated by long books <3
