I was always curious about this one and decided to finally give it a try.
This was a frustrating yet captivating read. A "play about nothing" sounds like it could be fun in a Seinfeld-type way. Instead, I found this to be a bizarre and occasionally maddening head-scratcher that had me latching onto various details, trying to find meaning in its existence and having little luck.
I then slapped my forehead realizing that was the point. It's brilliantly ridiculous. It's not that long of a work, so I'd be curious to revisit it in ten years' time and see if my experiences and outlook affect my overall response to it.
Seeing the Broadway production soon, with Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves (yep, Bill and Ted!) in the lead roles. Curious to see their interpretation of this most existential adventure.

as i imagine with all plays, this probably presents much better on the stage. reading it was a little tedious at times, but overall it was a very apt and thoughtful allegory that leaves the reader with a lot to chew on!

It has its moments. Perhaps it would be more enjoyable to see it as a play, where the short lines would resonate all over the space. Being acted out and said out loud would add texture and layer to the words which otherwise ring shallow in my mind, which understands the depth but unable to perceive it.
