Did only the English read to get a grasp on it. A funny if confusing time. I think I need to see the play to make more sense of it. I am looking forward to doing a later French read.
dark funny mysterious reflective slow-paced

A schizophrenic play about two hopelessly unaware men who are waiting for something they don’t know what is nor if it is really ever coming.

I understand that this is considered a masterpiece, and I get it. Having said that, I can't see myself ever picking it up again. Been there, done that, moving on.

It's good but this is the book that lit bros drool over
fast-paced

"They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams an instant, then it's night once more"

Basically, I loved it. The minimalism of the setting, the witty and simultaneously stupid banter between the two (reminds me of how I talk to my cynical friends), the slapstick humour, the themes of religion and life and death and what it means to be human and friendship (or are they lovers, really?). It is just prime post WW2 absurdism. It is so bleak and real. I refuse to wait with hope, I refuse to wait for Godot. There is no doubt much more to delve into here, but maybe I am not meant to fully understand this play.

this was actually funny? like it genuinely made me laugh.

i just loved how simple it was and how much it was just no plot just vibes.

the frustration you feel for how dumb everyone in this play is is kind of endearing?? idk how to explain it but it was super fun to read!!
